Kiondaga Lodge sent two members to make the 5-hour drive to the 2024 Section Conclave hosted by Kiskakon Lodge at Camp Chief Little Turtle . It was a fun event and a great opportunity to catch up with Arrowmen from across the state of Indiana. After making it through Indianapolis rush hour traffic in the rain, Associate Adviser Linda Schweickart and 2019 Chief Luke Schweickart were happy to make it to camp for Spyclave.

Saturday morning began with a flag raising, breakfast, then Luke and Linda decided to check out the silent auction and some of the morning activities. After that, the contingent took a hike around the lake and checked out more of Camp Chief Little Turtle.

The theme of this Conclave was Spies and featured events including competition activities, rifle shooting, archery, patch trading, patch auction, shows, fellowship and so much more!

The event kicked off with – as most good Scouting events do – with an evening show where Arrowmen were presented with the theme and a challenge to complete a riddle to save Section Vice Chief Sammy S. from The Evil Dr. Jenkins’ root beer cellar.

After lunch, Luke and Linda participated in the blacksmithing and created a couple of projects. Linda even created an “S”-hook!

After an impressive flag lowering, it was time for the Conclave feast. On the menu – steak and potatoes. After a delicious supper, it was time for the final show.

On Sunday morning after breakfast, the Section held the annual business meeting and Section officer elections. We are happy to congratulate Sammy S. from Sakima Lodge for his election to Section Chief, Ian N. from Nischa Chuppecat Lodge for his election to Vice Chief, and Elliot H. from Sakima for his election to Secretary. We look forward to what the section has in store for the upcoming ACT Conference, Council of Chiefs, and the 2025 Section Conclave.

Meanwhile, Linda packed up the remaining gear and dragged the wagon to the truck!

Overall, the 2024 Section Conclave was a successful event, and we had a great time connecting with fellow Arrowmen. The hard work of the Lodge Chiefs, Conclave Vice Chiefs, and the Section leadership team paid off, and we look forward to next year’s Conclave hosted by Nischa Chuppecat at Maumee Scout Reservation .
